Shopping Cart System

Apr 2022 - Aug 2022

A Python shopping-cart application supporting item selection, quantity management, price calculations, and user input validation.

PythonObject-Oriented ProgrammingInput Validation

Project Overview

What I built

This project was one of my earlier Python applications and focused on modelling a familiar shopping workflow through program logic. It introduced concepts such as structured data, user input handling, calculations, and reusable application logic.

Challenge

The problem I needed to solve

The system needed to maintain multiple products and quantities while continuously calculating an accurate total and preventing invalid user input from disrupting the program.

Approach

How I approached it

I implemented shopping-cart logic in Python that allowed users to select products, adjust quantities, calculate totals, and handle invalid entries through input-validation checks.

Implementation

Key implementation details

  • Implemented product selection and quantity tracking.
  • Calculated shopping-cart totals dynamically.
  • Used structured Python logic to organise cart behaviour.
  • Implemented input validation for incorrect user entries.
